God uses His word to change lives. The following studies are based upon this simple yet profound truth. We are asking you to take the time to study Holy Scripture because it is a God ordained means of sanctification. The word of God is one of the regular instruments that the Spirit uses to cleanse us from sin and make us more holy in our daily lives.The topic is sexual purity. You are taking up this study, most likely, because you are tempted in this particular area. You know the strength of this sin. You know the shame of this sin. Lord willing, through this study, you will also be better equipped to know how to resist this sin.
Here's how this study will work. This series is designed to work in harmony with other aspects of your pursuit for sexual purity (e.g. regular church attendance, the Lord's Table, personal prayer, personal Bible reading, memorizing Scripture, fasting, confession, daily accountability, pastoral oversight, accountability software, and cutting off access to immoral material). For the next 30 days you will be given regular assignments. Each assignment will have the following elements: Scripture to look up, study questions, and personal application. After you have completed each assignment you are to send it to the elder responsible for this part of your oversight.
The goal is this - sexual purity for the glory of God. We expect that if you diligently apply yourself to this course and rely upon the grace of God that you will experience real and measurable success in resisting this area of sin. The cross has purchased your freedom from this sin. Divine strength and enablement is available to you through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore we believe that you can actually experience freedom from this sin and enjoy sexual purity for the glory of God.
